Behavior Plans
In our classroom, we follow the school rules to be PAWS UP students!
P- Practice Good Manners
A- Always be Prepared
W- Work Hard
S- Stay Safe
You will be informed of behavior daily in your child’s yellow folder. Our class uses a color coding system for tracking behavior. Here's what it looks like:
Off the chart= Unbelievable behavior!!
Blue= Fabulous Behavior
Green= On task and ready to learn! (this is where students start every morning)
Yellow=Reminder (make better choices)
Orange=Consequence
Red= Parent Contact
Every student will begin on green each day and will have the opportunity to move up or down the “ladder”. If a student makes great choices, they will climb the ladder to reach the top. If a student needs a reminder to make a better choice, they will be asked to move their clip down to yellow. If the child improves their behavior, they will have the opportunity to move back up to green and work towards climbing the ladder again. If a child is on yellow and the misbehavior continues, they will have to move their clip to orange/red. Orange will result in a consequence and red will include parent contact, as well as an incident reflection form. This form will be sent home for a parent to sign and return to school.
If a student goes above and beyond, they will have the chance to move to blue, or off the chart! If the clip makes it to off the chart, Ms. Kehn or Ms. Turner will wear their clip for the day and the student will choose a coupon for a special reward. Rewards include: eating lunch with your teacher, extra recess time, first in line, sit at the teachers desk, etc.
Students who reach red will still have the opportunity to make better choices and "turn their day around." I will notify the parents of the behavior but I want students to learn and grow in these situations!
Students who stay on green all week will have the chance to visit the treasure chest!
